Óbidos enjoys a privileged location, being situated approximately 80 kilometers north of Lisbon.

  By Car:
For those traveling from the South, the best way is to take the A8 motorway in the “North” direction and take the first exit for “Óbidos”. Exit 15.
For those traveling from the North, coming from the A8, take the second exit for “Óbidos”. For those coming from the interior of the country, via the A15 motorway (starting in Santarém), then follow the A8 in the “South” direction and take the first exit for “Óbidos”. By national road, access to the town is via National Road 8.

  By Bus:
Óbidos is served by the Rodoviária do Oeste bus company. The bus stop is located only about 100 meters from the historic center, making this an excellent alternative for reaching the town. There are dozens of daily connections between Lisbon and the town, for example. For more information about buses and their schedules, consult the website www.rodoviariadooeste.pt

  By Train:
Rail transport is another option for those wishing to visit the village. If you choose this mode of transport and are coming from the South, take the Oeste line (approximately two and a half hours between Lisbon and Óbidos). The same applies if you are coming from the North: Take the Oeste line (passing through Figueira da Foz or Coimbra B towards Leiria and then Óbidos). The Óbidos train station is located about 1km from the historic center. For more information about trains and their schedules, please consult the website www.cp.pt

  Where to Park:
Upon arriving in Óbidos, there are several clearly marked parking areas outside the Historic Center. Three of these areas are paid (paved parking lots next to the Tourist Office) and the parking lot next to the Aqueduct, currently managed by the Volunteer Firefighters of the Municipality of Óbidos. There is also an additional parking area for motorhomes (also paid).
