Welcome to Óbidos
The town of Óbidos has very ancient origins, dating back to the Celtic era with the founding of an oppidum in 308 BC. It was conquered by the Romans, Wisigoths, then by the Moors in the 8th century before being retaken by the Portuguese in 1148.
In 2026, Óbidos will be again invaded by runners of all nationalities who will set off to tackle the half-marathon distance, or 10Km, on February 22.
